We seem to be heading into winter with our chin on the tank – In no particular order and excluding heated options for those of you not fancying being wired up, here’s our round up of the warmest winter motorcycle gloves…your finger tips will thank us later!
1) Rukka R-Star Gore-Tex Gloves – Our Choice
Rukka have pulled out all the stops on their R-Star Gore-Tex gloves. Fully waterproof, windproof and breathable and crafted from full grain leather. The gloves feature carbon knuckle protection and are fleece lined with a clever “two chamber” system allowing you to choose if the insulation is doubled up on top of your hands (if using heated grips) or spread evenly across the back of your hand and palm. The gloves also have the visor wipe feature we have come to expect on this type of glove.

2) Dainese Tempest D-Dry Long Gloves
Tempest D-Dry from Dainese is up there with the best of the cold weather riding gloves. Incredibly comfortable, warm and waterproof. The gloves boast a visor wipe feature on the thumb and the material on the index finger can be used on touchscreen devices. Constructed from elasticated fabric and “digital suede”, Comfortech knuckle protection, abrasion resistant reinforced suede palm and lined with thermal quilted padding.

3) Richa Mountain Gore-Tex Mixed Gloves:
The Mountain Gore-Tex from Richa are a great opener for us, consisting of a mixed leather and textile construction, D30 knuckle protection along with a Primaloft thermal liner to keep the heat in on those frosty mornings. These gloves have a great wrist seal which can be attached to your jacket. The “visor wipe” feature on the index finger is a welcome addition on rainy rides.

4) Spada Enforcer WP Gloves:
Apart from having a cool name, these gloves from Spada are an excellent choice for those looking for a quality pair of cold weather riding gloves at a competitive price. The 100% waterproof and breathable membrane keeps any moisture where it’s supposed to be whilst the Thinsulate thermal lining keeps the heat in. The gloves also feature carbon knuckle sections, leather reinforcements and a visor wipe on the left thumb.

5) RST Rallye CE Mixed Gloves:
Internally lined with polyester and a thermal quilted padding with a waterproof and breathable membrane, the Rallye from RST are a very warm motorcycle glove at a budget price. Constructed from goatskin and mixed micro-fibre with carbon knuckle protection.

6) Weise Montana 120 WP Gloves:
Weise have quietly been producing quality motorcycle clothing for over 10 years now, the Montana 120 WP gloves are a perfect example of that. Waterproof, windproof and breathable with a 120 gram Thinsulate inner liner these gloves are a great partner for wet and cold rides. The TPU shell armour and twin layered impact points provide plentiful protection.

7) Held Nordpol Gloves:
An unsual but effective design, this two finger glove does a sterling job in keeping the heat inside your glove while giving you full control of your levers and controls. Fully waterproof, windproof, breathable, 3m Thinsulate thermal lining and a index finger visor wipe.

8) DXR Evasion CE Gloves:
A great offering from the French based DXR to the best cold weather riding gloves debate. The Evasion gloves offer Thinsulate thermal lining with waterproof and breathable membrane. Abrasion resistant construction with hard shell TPU knuckle protection. A visor wipe is included on the left thumb

9) Rev’it Kryptonite GTX Gloves:
Waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex with Gore-Grip technology ensure any moisutre stays outside the glove whilst the Thinsulate G fleece liner keeps the heat in. Protection comes from a hard shell knuckle and PU injected protection. Integrated visor wipe and touch screen compatable finger tips are a welcome touch (see what we did there).

10) Knox Covert Leather Gloves:
A quality glove from Knox. Constructed from cowhide with a goat leather overlay on the palm. The gloves feature Biofoam panels on the keep parts of the hand with stretch panels on the fingers and thumb for extra comfort. Wind and waterproof OutDry membrane and Knox’s own “scaphoid” proection system.
